  • UN Appeals for $460 Mn to Help Pakistan Flood Victims
  • 聯合國呼籲得到 4.6 億美元捐款助巴洪水災民
  •   The United Nations is making an emergency appeal for $460 million to help Pakistan deal with a flooding disaster that has affected more than 14 million people.
  • 聯合國發出緊急呼籲,希望得到 4 億 6 千萬美元的捐款幫助巴基斯坦應付洪災;這次洪災使 1 千 4 百多萬民眾受到影響。

  •   The world body said Wednesday the aid will enable U.N. agencies and non-governmental organizations to support the Pakistani government in meeting the immediate needs of flood victims.

  • Israeli PM on Palestinian Peace Talks: "Let's Get on With It"

  •   Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told visiting U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell that Israel is ready for direct peace talks with the Palestinians.

  •   Speaking to reporters before their meeting in Jerusalem Wednesday, Mr. Netanyahu called for talks without preconditions, saying "let's get on with it."
