  • China Bans Trade in Human Organs
  • 中国禁止人体器官买卖
  •   Chinese state media say the country has formally banned buying and selling human organs and tightened regulations on transplants.
  • 中国官方媒体说,中国正式禁止人体器官买卖,并加强有关器官移植的规定。

  •   The official Xinhua news agency reports Wednesday China State Council has ordered doctors' licenses to be revoked if they are found to be involved in the human organ trade.

  •   Clinics involved in the trade will be prohibited from doing organ transplants for at least three years, and officials will be fired and expelled from the government.

  • Freedom House: North Korea, Burma Have World's Strictest Media Controls

  •   A U.S.-based media watchdog says Burma and North Korea impose some of the strictest media controls in the world.

  •   The annual report by Freedom House says North Korea is at the bottom of a list of 195 countries because media is barely able to operate there and because the press acts only as a mouthpiece for the government.
