  • WHO: Confirmed Swine Flu Cases Top 1,000
  • 世卫:确认甲型流感病例超过一千
  •   The World Health Organization says more than 1,000 cases of the swine influenza A-H1N1 have been confirmed in 20 countries.
  • 世界卫生组织说,已在 20 个国家证实超过 1 千例甲型流感 H1N1 病毒、也就是通常所说的猪流感病毒感染。

  •   WHO Director-General Margaret Chan made the announcement Monday, as she briefed the U.N. General Assembly via video link from Geneva.
  • 世卫组织总干事陈冯富珍星期一在日内瓦通过视频向联合国大会做出以上通告。

  •   Her comments came as Mexico says it is to reopen restaurants and other businesses Wednesday, saying the threat of the virus is on the decline.

  • China Denies Targeting Mexicans in Swine Flu Quarantine
  • 中国否认在甲型流感隔离中专门针对墨西哥人
  •   China has denied it is targeting Mexicans with swine flu quarantine measures that Mexico has described as discriminatory and unjustified.
  • 中国否认专门针对墨西哥人採取甲型 H1N1 流感检疫措施,墨西哥称中国的措施是歧视性和不合理的。

  •   Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said in a statement Monday the quarantine is not directed at Mexican citizens and that there is no discrimination.
  • 中国外交部发言人马朝旭星期一说,检疫并非针对墨西哥公民,不存在歧视问题。

  •   Ma said China understands Mexico's concern and values its friendly relations with the Latin American country, but he urged the Mexican government to maintain an "objective and calm" attitude on the issue.
