第十二部 第四課: wiped out , cutie-pie
- 李華的教授剛添了個女兒．李華和 Larry 準備去拜訪這位教授，向他們表示祝賀．今天李華會學到兩個常用語： wiped out 和 cutie-pie。

- 嘿！ Larry，我想去看看瓊斯教授和他太太．他們的女兒 Sarah 現在也應該有幾個星期大了！
- Aren't you worried they are too wiped out to have company?
- Wiped out？你說瓊斯教授他們怎麼樣了啊？
- Too wiped out means they must be really tired. I am sure they haven't gotten much sleep with a new baby in the house.
- 哦～， Wiped-out 就是很疲乏的意思．添了小寶寶他們倆啊可能都睡不好．不過我想，我們早一點去拜訪他們，坐一會兒就走，應該沒問題吧．我聽說啊 baby Sarah 真的很可愛哎！
- OK, That sounds good, but we should call before we go. You know, I am amazed Professor Jones is still teaching classes considering how wiped out he must be.
- 就是啊，雖然很累，瓊斯教授還來上課呢！真是令人佩服！我啊，只要想到去上課都好累，更何況我還沒有小寶寶呢。
- You're right! Just going to work every day wipes me out. I can't imagine what it must be like to have to get up so many times in the middle of the night to feed the baby and change diapers.
