第六部 第六課: zip , drama queen
- 李華和 Michael 這個週末什麼功課都沒有，原來準備好好玩一玩，可是後來計劃落空．李華會學到兩個常用語： zip 和 drama queen。

- 嗨，Michael, 哎，你這個週末有功課要做嗎？
- Nope. I don't have to do zip. I'm free the whole weekend.
- 你不用做 zip? 那是什麼意思呀？Zip 不是衣服上的拉鏈嗎？
- No, I mean zip as in zero or nothing. I don't have zip means I don't have anything to do.
- 哦～，zip 可以解釋為 「零」、「什麼也沒有」．那你的意思是你週末什麼事也沒有，對不對？
- Yes. If you ask me for money and I don't have any, I could say I haven't got zip. Get it?
- 知道啦，你沒有錢，我本來也沒有想問你借錢啊。
- Good. Now, do you have any money I could borrow. I want to buy a coke.
- "No, I don't have zip." 哎，我這麼說對不對？
- Yes, you used it right, but I really want to buy a coke.
- 你真的要問我借錢啊？ Michael, 我可真是沒有錢，我不騙你。
- Oh well, I guess I'll have to go to the bank before we can do anything interesting this weekend. If I don't have any cash, then we won't be able to do zip.
- 沒錯，你啊要不到銀行去取錢，那週末我們哪兒也去不了了．We won't be able to do zip.
- Now you've learned the word zip. The bank is over there. I'll get some cash and I'll come right back.
- OK. 快一點喔，我餓了，要去吃晚飯了．哎，Michael, 你多取點錢，I don't have zip in my pockets.

- Oh, don't be such a drama queen. The assignment can't be that bad, and I know for a fact that you do have free time.
- 你叫我什麼啊？ Drama queen? Drama 是戲劇， queen 是女王．疑？這兩個詞合在一起．嘿，我雖然不知道 drama queen 的具體意思啊，但是我肯定你是在諷刺我，對不對？
- Not really. A drama queen is a girl who exaggerates her problems, usually to get attention. Your problem really isn't that bad, but you make it sound like the end of the world.
- 哦～，drama queen 原來是說一個女孩，為了引起別人的注意，誇張了她面臨的問題．哎喲，就是小題大作嘛．哎！我可不是小題大作哦，我是因為沒有時間完成作業，所以我才心煩意亂。
- Oh, please. You are being a little too dramatic about this homework assignment.
- 只是一個作業，嘿！你說得倒簡單哎！算了算了，不跟你爭了啦．可能是我還不清楚 drama queen 的含意．哎，Michael, 你再給我舉個例子，好不好？
- Do you remember my friend, Angela, who called me crying because she couldn't find her math book?
- 當然記得囉．她呀，為了找不到她的數學書，給你打電話的時候還哭了，我啊真是難以相信．她好像老是有什麼事感到不高興似的。
- She is such a drama queen. She makes a huge deal out of losing a book or a bad haircut. Once, she wouldn't talk to me for a week because I forgot to call her back.
- 哎，對，她啊總是大驚小怪，小題大作的，丟了一本書也不高興，剪頭髮剪得不好也不高興．哎，你忘了給她打回電，她當然要生氣囉，一個星期不跟你講話就算客氣的了．我啊可沒有像她那樣，所以別叫我 drama queen 喔．
