UN Nuclear Chief in Iran to Press for Nuclear Freeze
巴拉迪赴德黑蘭促伊停核計劃
　　The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency is in Iran for another round of talks aimed at persuading the Tehran government to freeze its nuclear program. ElBaradei met today (Thursday) with Iran's nuclear chief, Gholamreza Aghazadeh. Mohamed ElBaradei's one-day visit comes two days after Iran announced its engineers had successfully enriched uranium to a level used in nuclear power plants.
國際原子能機構總幹事巴拉迪前往伊朗進行另一輪旨在敦促德黑蘭政府凍結其核計劃的會談，今天（星期四）會見伊朗的核能負責人．兩天前，伊朗宣佈其工程技術人員已經成功地把金屬鈾提煉到可以用來發電的程度。

　　The I.A.E.A. chief is to report to the U.N. Security Council on April 28th -- the deadline the council has set for Iran to halt its nuclear activities.

　　Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed again today his government will not back away from uranium enrichment, despite international pressure.

　　The United States accuses Iran of running a secret nuclear weapons program. Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful energy purposes only.

Pakistani Army Kills 7 Insurgents Near Afghan Border
巴基斯坦軍擊斃七名反叛分子
　　The Pakistani military says it has destroyed a suspected insurgent hideout in a tribal region near the Afghan border, killing seven militants.
巴基斯坦軍方說，他們摧毀了靠近阿富汗邊境部落地區一個被懷疑是反叛份子藏身地的據點，打死了7名反叛份子。

　　Local security officials say the attack late Wednesday in the restive North Waziristan region was aimed at a senior al-Qaida explosives expert, Egyptian-born Muhsin Musa Matwali Atwah.
當地安全官員說，這次襲擊星期三晚上發生在動盪的北部地區，目標是基地恐怖組織的高級爆炸專家、埃及出生的阿特瓦。

　　A government spokesman would not confirm reports that Atwah was killed in the raid, but said foreign militants were among the dead.
政府發言人沒有證實阿特瓦是否死於這次襲擊，但表示被打死的人當中有外國武裝分子。

　　 Atwah is wanted in connection with the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in East Africa. Washington has offered a five million dollar reward for his capture.
阿特瓦和1998年美國在東非兩個國家的使館被炸有關．華盛頓懸賞500萬美元抓獲阿特瓦。

　　The attack was the latest in a series of raids by government troops over the past few months, during which more than 250 suspected militants have been killed.
這次襲擊是政府軍過去幾個月來發動的多次襲擊之一．在此期間有250多名被懷疑是武裝分子的人被打死。
