  • Japan Intervenes in Foreign Currency Market
  • 日本干预外匯市场
  •   Japan has intervened in the world's currency market to weaken the yen, after it rose to a 15-year high against the U.S. dollar.
  • 日本当局对世界外匯市场进行干预,以降低日元的币值;此前,日元对美元的匯率上升到 15 年来的最高水準。

  •   Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda told reporters Wednesday the central bank entered the currency exchange to sell the yen and buy dollars, but did not specify how much the bank had sold.

  • US Says No Quick Progress Likely on Resuming North Korea Nuclear Talks

  •   The chief U.S. envoy to the North Korean nuclear negotiations says it is unlikely the stalled talks will resume in the near future.

  •   U.S. Ambassador Stephen Bosworth met with reporters in Tokyo Wednesday shortly before heading to Beijing.
