第十二部 第十四課: have a ball , tizzy
- Larry 正在開車和李華一起到他父母家過週末．兩個人在車上討論這個週末的活動．今天李華會學到兩個常用語： have a ball 和 tizzy。

- 我希望你媽啊會喜歡和我一塊兒去逛街。
- Oh, I'm sure that the two of you will have a ball if you go shopping together. You both love to shop.
- Have a ball？哎！我是要和你媽去逛街哎，不是和她去打球？
- To have a ball means to have a lot of fun. I think you and my mother would have a lot of fun shopping together.
- 哦～，原來如此． To have a ball 就是玩的非常開心，所以， Larry 你是說我和你媽會逛的很開心啊．嗯，我也這麼覺得喔。
- I plan on watching some football with my dad and playing baseball with my cousins. That's my idea of having a ball.
- 和你爸看球賽，又和你表弟打球，這些對你來說就是玩得過癮啦！不過啊，我可是一點興趣也沒有。
- While I'm doing that, you and my mom can go and have a ball shopping. It works out perfectly.
- 對了， Larry，你們家有游泳池，對吧？
- Yep, they have a big pool in the backyard. My cousins have a ball splashing around in it.
- 嗯～，我想啊我和你的表兄妹一樣，一定會在游泳池裡玩的很開心！我已經有好久好久都沒有游泳了！
- Yeah, I wouldn't mind going swimming either. This hot weather is great for hanging out in the pool.
- 啊～！我覺得啊這個週末一定會玩的很開心！
- Yep, everybody is going to have a ball.

- Larry，你媽怎麼一直打你的手機呢？她有什麼急事啊？
- Oh, she's in a tizzy because she's excited that we're coming home for a visit. She misses me while I'm away.
- 我知道你媽盼望著你回家．我也知道她很想你，可是你說她怎麼啦？ She's in a what? Tizzy? 那是什麼意思啊？
- A tizzy is a state of nervous excitement. My mom is excited about us coming home, but she's nervous because she wants to make sure everything is ready for us.
- 所以 tizzy 就是指很緊張、很興奮．你媽媽啊知道你要回家，所以她很興奮．我媽也是這樣哎，每次我要回家啊，她都會把家裡打掃得一塵不染，還會買一大堆我喜歡吃的東西呢。
- My mom does the same thing. Be prepared to eat a lot this weekend. My mom gets in such a tizzy that she cooks enough to feed an army.
- 哇喔～，你媽媽一興奮她就會做好多飯菜啊？哎，那她做的菜好吃嗎？
- My mom is a great cook! You're going to have some old-fashioned American food.
- 嗯～，聽起來啊好誘惑人呢！哎，我快等不及了．說真的，我也有點 tizzy，興奮又緊張了。
- Why are you in a tizzy?
- 哦～，我很興奮因為可以到一個美國人的家庭過週末，吃道地的美國菜．可是啊我又很緊張哎，因為我想讓你家人對我有好印象啊！
- Don't worry about that! You know my family thinks you're great!
- 你們家的人啊都對我很好．這我知道。

- 今天李華學到了兩個常用語．一個是： to have a ball，就是「玩的很痛快、很開心」．另外一個常用語是： tizzy，這是「形容一個人很緊張、很興奮」。
